Hi,
I have pulled the plug on replacing my Drobo 5D with a DS1522+. It will be here later today. At present I can backup the 5D with BackBlaze. This won't be an option with the NAS. As I will have 5x 3TB drives spare from the Drobo 5d I was wondering if you could recommend a unit that could house these drives and be used to backup the 1522+. I don't need to backup everything on the 1522+

Sorry I was looking at the wrong info. Hi. I reckon ive watched all you videos. Thanks again for the reviews. I do have a query You did a YouTube video on the TS-873AU which has been superseded with the TS-873AeU which now has the M2 Slots etc. I was wondering if you plan to do a back to back or a review on the newer model as im considering purchasing one for my home setup and would love your input on what they are like. Kind Regards. Anthony

Hello Nas!! I purchased my first ps5 and I love the performance and specs of it so far. And honestly I would love to preserve and upgrade the functionality since I know Playstation won't make another console for another couple more years and I would like to make the best of my console. So far I've done a good amount of research thanks to your sources. But what I'm confused about so far is which is the absolute best Ssd(memory performance wise) cause you said the firecuda is very good but you mentioned there was a better one I think i forgot the brand but I think you said it was better. Also I was wondering if thermal pad really matter cause I researched that the fujipoly thermal pads are pretty great but I want to know which of the thermal pads would go best with that Copper pole looking heatsink. Also I'm very new to all this tech geek type of stuff especially terminology since I'm kinda illiterate lol. So if you could simplify the terminology if possible I'd greatly appreciate it! Also I love your content and have subscribed and will be watching for more info in the future.

Good day guys,
Quick question. Are there any backup applications/options or a way in which to backup the entire system state not just data e.g. System settings, user accounts & applications. So in case of failure the NAS can be restored without having to go back through setting up QTS and network settings, user accounts, installing and configuring applications etc?

I'm looking for QNAP TS-1685, but nobody has them any more. What is the newer replacement model number?
I store lots of pictures and personal videos, so I don't need a business version, but not a JBOD is what I'm looking for.
I have for 10 years TS560-PRO
Question: Can I just insert the drives from my TS directly into any Qnap server that isn't JBOD?
Or do I have to copy all the files?
What raid should I use to serve my pictures as fast as it can?
Thank you very much!

| Which slots to use for NVMe drives? |

Hey guys thanks alot for your previous advice on which disks to get for caching, I really appreciate it. I went with the Firecuda 530 1TB and also got a new QM2 card. Now I need a little bit more help for final setup
NAS - TVS-872X
QM2 Card - QM2-4P-384A
NVMe drives - 2x Firecuda 520 1TB (RAID1 on QM2 Card for VM's)
NVMe drives - 2x Firecuda 530 500GB (Unused but will use for QNAP apps RAID1)
NVMe drives - 2x Firecuda 530 1TB (Unused but will use for read/write caching RAID1)
I want to use a set of disks for caching & the other set for migrated QNAP apps so they'll run faster.
The M.2 slots on the NAS are Gen3x2 and the QM2 card is Gen3x4 so my question is.
Whats your recommendation for which slot to use for caching & which slot to use for apps for the best overall performance

| Seeking Rackmount Option |

Hello!
I am hoping to get pointed in the direction of a rack mount NAS with CPU capable of transcoding mean. Use case is for a Plex media server for my home network.
I am having trouble finding rack mount options, and there is a lot of debate regarding the ability to transcode 4K, and all that info that is a little overwhelming.
I was interested in the Synology RS422+ but just saw you video cautioning use of that one.
Would you by chance have any recommendations for something that would meet our needs?
