Need a Synology NAS recommendation |

I am looking to invest into a Synology NAS for basic home use. Primarily to backup photos, and some videos. I may look into using it as a Plex/Jellyfin server for myself. I do want to future proof it so I can upgrade RAM or networking. Initially I'll do a RAID 0 but I'll get more drives to do a RAID 5. I was thinking of getting two 4 TB drives to start.

Hi Nas, I love your PS5 SSD videos! I recently received an email from SCRY the company behind the PS5 crowdsourced cooler.
They are releasing a SSD soon, I would love to see you do a test on this.
I provided the link I received in my email

I am shopping for a NAS and I found a used Synology DS415+ on a bidding site. All I need is to back up files and pictures to migrate away from iCloud. Should this function temporarily while I save up for a newer Synology?

Add NAS expansion drives to an existing NAS RAID5 |

I want to add a QNAP TL-D800C expansion enclosure to my existing QNAP TVS-h874-i7-32G NAS. My existing NAS is configured to only have one RAID and it's a RAID5. My question is this. Can I directly add the expansion drives in any way to be part of my existing NAS RAID5? The QNAP docs say the expansion enclosure has to have its own storage pool etc. which mans the enclosure must be its own storage area and RAID I assume. I want to add all of the new drives to my existing RAID. Can I do that and if so how? Thanks for your help.

QNAP TS-1232XU with 32GB RAM |

Hello
I own a QNAP TS-1232XU NAS and according to the specification the maximum specification says 16GB RAM. The NAS has one slot and uses a DDR4 2400MHz PC4-19200 UDIMM 1.2V 288-pin.
I have seen youtube videos were you have done upgrades to QNAP NAS and would like to know if you believe it is possible to upgrade a TS-1232XU to 32GB RAM and what memory module manufacturers that could work?
Thanks
Regards

First NAS |

I am looing for my first ever NAS, to use as a mass storage that I can still access without having to fiddle around with external drives. I would prefer something that is off the shelv and has an easy interface. I have looked at the WD My cloud expert series ultra 2 and it looked quite good at first glance. Both in terms of value and software. I have only found old reviews though.
Is there something I should know about it beforehand, or do you know of something that has even better value?
Any and all suggestions are wellcome.
