The Purple N355 Aliexpress board you reviewed recently - Enquiries - 04-03-2025 Hello mate, I find your reviews really useful, but one thing that you rarely seem to mention is compatibility with 4TB nvme drives. Specifically, I'm talking about the purple coloured N355 server board that you reviewed recently. Can it reliably support 2x 4TB nvme drives in its native two slots reliably? That's all I really need from it, but with it shipping from China, I want to be sure, before I shell out for it. I'd also like to know, what other motherboards you recommend that have the same processor, or something that ramps down, close to single figures (in watts from the wall) when idle, supports 4TB drives (at least 2 out of the box), dual 2.5gbe (10gbe if poss), mini itx form factor, silent/really quiet and decent cooling. Thanks! RE: The Purple N355 Aliexpress board you reviewed recently - ed - 04-04-2025 The purple N355 board should technically support 2x 4TB NVMe SSDs in its native slots, but since manufacturers don’t always test high-capacity drives, it’s hard to guarantee 100% compatibility. That being said, we haven’t seen any reports of issues with 4TB drives on similar models. If you want to be completely certain, checking with the seller directly might be a good idea. For alternative boards, if you're looking for low idle power, dual 2.5GbE (or 10GbE if possible), Mini-ITX form factor, and quiet operation, here are some options worth considering: Topton N100/N305 Mini-ITX – Efficient, supports NVMe drives, and idles very low on power. CWWK N6005/N100/N305 – Comes with dual 2.5GbE, solid cooling, and good power efficiency. ASRock Industrial N100M – Not Mini-ITX, but super power-efficient and great for NAS builds. Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F – Older but has 10GbE and good power management. If 10GbE is a must, you might need to consider a PCIe expansion slot or an external 10GbE adapter. https://nascompares.com/review/cwwk-n355-diy-nas-motherboard-review/ |
