Our filesystem on our NNAS is IBM GPFS. All of our compute nodes are diskless. They all load from the identical image. Each node runs EXT4 each core is assigned 2GB of memory Each node has 4 10GB Myrnet adapters connected to a Myricom Myrinet 128 port 10Gb. these Myrinet switches connect to our NAS with 10GB Myrinet connectors.
Our systems use XFS and EXT4. I have not seen any articles showing user experiemnce of ZFS. I was dissapointed in the analysis of the EXT4 files system which read like a wet tongue in the lips RASPBERRY. I have run into two systems that had a problem on their EXT4 files system but those were easily corrected with reboot and repair on reboot. the OS we use are SLES. our communications modules are compiled into the kernel. This includes MPICH MVAPICH. The system is tuned for our CFD needs. We see ZFS as an untested and unproven filesystem.

We have Star link and a Synology Nas and am trying to get Star link and the NAS recognize each other. The NAS is wired to a ethernet adapter from Starlink. I have 2 computers that have a wired connection and they work just fine. Trying to use the Starlink router for a wifi connection to the laptop. Running DSM 7.1.1 update 2. Trying to find a way for them to connect so the nas can connect to the internet and the laptop can connect with wifi. Thank You

I've had a DS1813+ for several years now. Due to its limitations, I'd like to eventually build a rack storage server running TrueNAS. But in the meantime, I thought I'd maybe upgrade my Synology. I originally was looking at the DS3622xs+ or the DS1823xs+ for the 10Gbe ports and the possibility of M.2, but the lack of SHR gives me pause. I thought about going to the DS1821+ or DS2422+, but buying any new Synology NAS given the proprietary drive issue voiding the warranty freaks me out. I've looked at a QNAP and other possible solutions. Your videos and articles are great, so I wondered if you had any suggestions. Of course, I'd like to spend as little as possible, but I'd be willing to spend up to about $3000 on a NAS, but I'd have to get a lot for that much. I want to have enough power, speed and capacity for a my media servers and docker containers. Thanks for any help.

Looking for my first NAS, not entirely sure what i want to run on it but probably plex and some other docker containers. Any tips and recommendations on how much TB needed for something like plex along with some backups for pc/laptop? And which NAS to use for this? I want atleast 2.5gbps ports since my network is also 2.5gbps

What is the best NAS that's just a NAS? I want to run a variety of services on a new M2 Mac Mini for my home network, but I also like the Synology Hybrid RAID option provided with some Synology models.
I want to run a Plex server and I have lots of HEVC encoded media.
Is the base model DS1522+ a good fit? Or is is overkill?
I'm looking for something that will take me into the 2030's that can be easily expanded, storage-wise. I was a big fan of Drobo.
You had a NAS v. Mac Mini video about 4 years ago. Does the advent of Apple Silicon change anything about your conclusions there?
