I have synology 1923+ with 2 4TB SSD & 3 8TB HDDs. How do I get HDDs automatically back my SSDs ?

Hi Nascompares. I was searching for a new / good condition NAS device and came across your YouTube site. I have an old Qnap TS-851 and it is really feeling its age, performing very slowly. I was wondering if you can assist, I would like the following please:
Used mainly for File storage and backup in different pools / areas for various types of files, i.e. images, CAD, video and office files
Raid 5 or 6 for redundancy in the array
Quick performance over our small office network (1Gb network connections on CAT 5E) to connect to 3 windows PCs and remote access as well.
8 bay NAS or server to hold 8 x 12Tb SATA drives, mix of drives as I have upgraded over time...
Budget circa £1500 excluding hard drives
I am used to using Qnap servers, but heard of FreeNaz and wondering whether it is time to upgrade to that instead?

I try to save all of my research data on my laptop so I do not need to depend on external storage methods that become obsolete (zip drives, CDs, DVDs). However, I am approaching 1TB of data and filling up my laptop drive. I have a cloud back up service but I would also like to have automatic local back up and storage. Instead of getting a bigger flash drive to manually back up to, I think a NAS would be a good option. To keep up with my ever-growing data, I think 2 or 3TB would be sufficient for a few years. I like the idea of a 2 bay NAS with SSD to keep energy consumption low and the drives mirroring each other. I do not have a lot of experience handling drives so I would like a set up that is easy to install. I would probably be the only user for the foreseeable future. I have one primary laptop but another older one in case of any trouble with the primary. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Buying first Nas for Plex server. Primary pc in master bedroom. Have 16Tb cheap hard drive which is full. Want 30 Tb system with Raid 1 (60 Tb) total. Want to be able to serve my family of 4 simultaneously with no lag (minimal) Not sure what to buy. Not the most computer friendly guy but have used one for a while and understand the bare basics.

I have been watching your youtube videos. You guys know your stuff. I know you're not a 'tech support' company but wonder if you can help me given your expertise. Perhaps a 5-10 Zoom call to see if you can fix it? I don't think I need your full hour time.

Please help! I have so much data on my NAS I need!

If you allow me, first, I would like to make a NAS server so that I can save my data but I want to use, for learning and practising , the two architectures: MS server and Debian systems. so that I can configure my NAS with both Win Server and/or Debian (want to use two physical servers: the first, I want to use an ESXi hypervisor to install VMs for different servers: DNS,...and the second one, it will be a NAS server) I want to master both architectures.
After configuring and managing the NAS, I want my NAS to be accessible over the net. So I plan to use a cloud solution and access through an address or an IP.

- If you allow me, I would like to advise me on what to do or what to choose as motherboards for these different tasks.
- is there a solution more simple and effective to realize this project ?

I've recently stumbled upon a Seagate IronWolf model (ST8000VNZ02, 8TB Internal Hard Drive NAS HDD, 3.5 Inch, 5400 RPM, 256 MB Cache, SATA 6 Gb/s, Silver) on Amazon that has caught my eye for my upcoming setup. I cannot post the link, but it is findable on Amazon German, Amazon UK and some other UK retailers by searching for ST8000VNZ02.
However, after doing some digging, I've noticed something peculiar: this specific model doesn't seem to appear on Seagate's official website, nor could I find it in any datasheets. This discovery leaves me with a few questions and a bit of skepticism regarding its legitimacy and specifications.

I'm considering purchasing three drives for my Synology 923+ NAS, which I plan to place in my living room. My use case involves setting up a media server and storing some datasets for machine learning projects.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could shed some light on:

• The legitimacy of this specific model found on Amazon.
  
• Any insights or backstory on why it might not be listed on the official Seagate website.
  
• Recommendations on whether this drive would be a suitable choice for my intended use, especially considering noise levels in a living room environment.
  

I currently run WD PR4100 (72TB RAID5) as a multi-media server (Plex), and I have QNAP TR-004 (32TB JBOD) connected via USB to a Windows 10 PC as a file server for documents/data (Office, photos, etc).

Plan is to buy a new QNAP NAS (72TB RAID5) and to migrate data server from TR-004, which will then become a backup server role for secondary backup of data.

I am considering the QNAP TS-453E as the new device, with 4no. WD Ultrastar 18TB HDDs (RAID5 to give 54TB available). I would partition with 4no. shares to replicate the current partitions offered on TR-004.

Q: can I daisy chain the TR-004 via USB off the back of TS-453E, and make all shares from both devices available to Windows 10?

Q: is TS-453E an appropriate solution for this case, or would you recommend another QNAP device (I don't consider other brands). TS-453E will also run Plex, and I like the 2no. HDMI ports, 2no. SSD slots, and 2.5GBe). Thought about TS-433 but this seems less suitable.

I purchased and applied a sysnology HAT3310-16T harddisk, but the upgrade failed because the capacity was not recognized.
Did I perhaps not do something else?

I successfully entered the settings screen using the sysnology assistant. All screens were normal and I even logged in, but an error message was displayed saying that only the capacity part was not recognized.
