Status Red Light Blinks - Every couple seconds - TS653B? |

Status Red Lamp blinks even after ejecting all 6 drives. Fans? Mainboard?
The NAS is getting close to full, but not full. At least 1TB of space remains at last check. The 6-bays configured:
1-4 6TB x 4 = 24TB, RAID5 (18TB usable)
5-6 10TB x2 = 20TB, RAID0 (20TB usable, striping, backup for 1-4 RAID5 array)
I have ejected all 6 disks but the TS-653B still blinks with Status red lamp. So, this leads me to think, (a) the fans are bad, or (b) the unit's mainboard is bad. I have had the device for a couple of years now and up until yestereday I was able to use it normally. I have power set to automatically shutdown the NAS every evening at 2400 until whenever I decide to turn it on the following day, being the only user.
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Synology DS1819+ or Synology RS1219+? |

Hello. I am putting together a NAS solution and I would really appreciate some input. This is a home NAS and would mainly be used for storage and potentially for Plex as well. That said my biggest concern is data transfer speeds. As such, I would like to put together a 10Gbe solution. I am looking at either the Synology DS1819+ or potentially the Synology RS1219+ (as that could be added to an existing rack I have) with the E10-M20-T1 to boost speed. Would you suggest the DS1819+ or the RS1219+? What are the benefits of going with one versus the other?

Synology vs. QNAP disk size upgrade? |

On Synology vs. QNAP videos it was stated that you can use different size disks with Synology but not with QNAP, is this still true?
How do you upgrade your QNAP RAID to larger disks? If you can't use various sizes do you have to rebuild from scratch?

Synology Moments won't play videos? |

This video (https://youtu.be/Lk0N0M5MLLc?t=340) shows that Synology Moments is supposed to play videos right in the app. But on both my Pixel 3 and my wife's S10e, when tapping on a video to play, we get prompted with a "select which app to play this video in".
We're both connected to the same server, so I'm wondering if there's a server-side setting that I need to change. I can't imagine that Synology would remove that functionality if at one point it did play videos, as shown in the video linked above.
Thanks for the help.

Buying a new NAS mostly for Plex streaming and Docker with Kubernetes? |

Hello all,
I'm looking around for investing in a new NAS to replace my current old one (a Seagate PersonalCloud).
I'm mostly interested in 2 aspects:
- must support Plex in order to be able to stream to my ChromeCast,
- I'm starting to dig into Dockers + Kubernetes and I would like a NAS that would be able to run few virtual machines. I'm not interested in running virtual machines to replace my laptop; I'm speaking only about docker containers / images.
I was thinking to something like the QNAP TVS-682 (most expensive), Synology DS-920+ or Asustor AS6404T (least expensive)
HDMI output for me is not a must as I'm not planning to stream directly to my TV, but it's a plus.
I would like something that would need no upgrade for about the next 3 years. Support for additional M.2 SSD/nvme is a plus.

Synology DS019 or DS920+? |

I currently have a Synology DS411+II 4-bay NAS and would like to buy newer, faster version. I have limited my options to the DS1019+ or the DS920+ (when it becomes available in the Netherlands).
Any recommendations about the better longer term option?
