Comment about the Minisforum AI X1 Pro review

#1
Hey,

https://nascompares.com/review/minisforum-ai-x1-pro-review-a-real-mini-pc-for-modern-gaming/

Loved reading this review, to be honest. The X1 Pro is quite good, to be honest, and I want one.

But re: the mention of eGPUs, maybe you could test the X1 Pro with other GPUs aside the one inside the MGA1?

Minisforum sells the DEG1, which is an OCuLINK dock.
You have to bring your own GPU and PSU, but that allows you all to review how mini PCs like the X1 Pro do in gaming when an eGPU is assisting them in that task.

There's also the AOOSTAR AG02, which has both USB4/ThunderBolt and OCuLINK + an integrated PSU, which gives you more flexibility with eGPUs (not all devices support OCuLINK, but not all devices support USB4).

I'd love to see you all have fun with eGPUs and how you can make a neat mini gaming machine out of a Mini PC!

Thanks,
CyanoTex

I also loved the review, and I am anxious for this mini-PC to be released. You mentioned in the review that the PSU sits over the SSD bay, probably necessitating SSD heatsinks for temperature regulation. Can you indicate how much clearance is available for an SSD heatsink? There are several models out there, and I'd like to make sure I purchase ones that fit.

Thanks,

To ensure compatibility, you should prioritize SSD heatsink models with a slim and compact design.

The integrated AMD Radeon 890M GPU delivers satisfactory performance for mid-range gaming and AI-assisted tasks. For users seeking enhanced graphics capabilities, the inclusion of an OCuLink port allows connection to external GPUs, offering flexibility for more demanding applications.
