Simple NAS

#1
Hi Again, I am so frustrated with WD MyCloud EX2. They are unable to support without constantly reseting my system to correct the problem of the Apps not loading. I have a QNAP TS 251+ but it is a little too technical. Would you recommend another NAS that is simple, easy to configure, and will allow for external backup?

Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out! Given your frustration with the WD MyCloud EX2 and the complexity of the QNAP TS 251+, I would highly recommend the Synology DS224+ as a great alternative.

The DS224+ is a newer, more streamlined option from Synology, offering the same user-friendly interface found in their DSM (DiskStation Manager) system. It’s simple to set up and manage, and provides excellent external backup options. You can easily back up data to external drives via USB or use Synology’s cloud backup services for off-site backups.

It also offers solid performance for both home use and small businesses, with the added benefit of scalability in the future if your storage needs grow. The DS224+ would be an excellent choice if you're looking for something that is simple to configure, reliable, and offers convenient backup solutions.

I understand your frustration with the WD MyCloud EX2. Having to constantly reset the system to fix application issues is not a good experience. The QNAP TS 251+ is a powerful NAS device, but it is true that it may be a bit too technical for some users.

The DS224+ is a fantastic NAS option for home users and small businesses alike! Synology has done a great job keeping their DSM (DiskStation Manager) interface user-friendly and easy to navigate. Setting up the DS224+ is simple, and managing it is just as straightforward. I especially love the backup flexibility — you can easily connect external drives via USB or rely on Synology’s cloud backup services for extra protection. Performance-wise, it handles daily tasks smoothly and offers future scalability if your storage needs expand. If you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-use NAS with excellent backup solutions, the DS224+ is definitely worth considering!
