Painful file transfer from PC to NAS |

I owe the Synology 416Play. I was having issues with the two even talking to one another until I did a clean install of Windows. Now I'm able to run the synology assistant and on occasion do a victory dance when I'm not able to mount it correctly. Any easy fix or could I pay for someone to remotely fix. I'm pretty much below novice as I get notification that my connection is not secure (but I have the network on private).

JellyFin on NAS TS-264 |

I followed the instruction on Youtube video: QNAP NAS JellyFfn installation - THE EASY WAY TO DO IT
I created a media library for Photos and pointed it to a JellyFInPhotos folder I created with File Station in a path under the Multimedia Share folder. I placed couple of photos in that directory, but I cannot see those photos in the Photos Library on the Jellyfin server. Why? What have I missed? Permissions look correct to me. I am a new use of QNAP and JellyFin.
Thanks

Hello, I have an older Netgear I3 based NAS, owned it for over 10 years now, it is tired and needs a long deserved rest. I have IT experience so I am not lost configuring devices, but for a new NAS I will need videos etc for RAID setup getting plex on it etc. I would like a NAS with integrated graphics, ability to add m2 drives, 2.5gb network port/s, ability to expand. I was looking at QNAP and Synology's as I have read terramaster's UI is not so friendly, and since Netgear is not a player anymore (I like my netgear) these were the best brands to go with. I looked at Synology 923+, 423, 423+, 920+, 1621+ and QNAP 672xt, 251D, 453DX, 653D, 872xt, 1282- either these are not checking the boxes somehow or they aren't available anymore. I was using a plex nas compatibility google doc to try and help me sort through, but it seems that the ones that will do 1080/4k video are all out of my price range. What Synology or QNAP should I try to get?

Hello, Im interested on NAS for my film edit workflow that allows to share my files for remote co-workers (editor, colorist, etc) with enough speed to edit from the storage system instead from the computer.

DS723+ 22TB Drives |

I was thinking of getting a DS723+ for storing my media via Plex to watch movies / TV shows on any smart TV in my house. I don't plan on watching movies via phone so would I need to worry about Plex transcoding? I'm also worried about using two 22TB (Western Digital Red Pro) drives because I've checked their compatibility list and they only offer 3rd party drives at 16TB (14TB for Western Digital). I hope they add higher drive sizes soon.

First love your channel and reviews. I am looking for a NAS to back up my home PC and mobile photos. It will be used by wife and family who are not tech savvy at all. Your recent review of the Synology BeeStation seems perfect. Do you have any other suggestions? I am concerned about it only being a single drive and would also prefer an SSD option. Should I wait for Synology to come out with better versions for BeeStations or do youhave any other NAS suggestions that I should consider.
Thank you
Michael McChargue

DS1515+ Dead |

Hi Guys - I hope this message finds you all well. My original DS1515+ has officially died. I tried to change the PSU and nothing changed. I'm little off on what my options are but if I found a DS1522+ would that be an option to transfer into? I have a solid back up and also a DS920+ that I'm using as my primary but really would like to replace the 1515+ and just curious what options I have since I know I was limited on the recent version of DSM on this one and with all the new processors out if I'm going to have issues? I appreciate your time and any advice you can give.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi I've recently bought a DS923+ and am getting into a bit of a Mucking Fuddle.
I'm having problems with Quick connect, Synology Drive and other bits like logging on from Synology drive.
I feel like I started poorly and have struggled ever since!!!
I see you do a zoom call, can you do a call where you are able to see my setting and thus sort my system out??
Failing that ill have to try the Zoom call
Thx

photo storage for my family 7 adults
backups of files from computers,syncing
Home assistant in VM or docker
audiobooks and movies storage - It would be nice to be able to watch movies with seperate file subtitles from my NAS on my Phillips TV with Android TV, or maybe tablet/laptop during the trip. But I mostly watch Netflix or HBO. I read about plex, but never used it
I don't have a big library of video files, but has a few classics like Lord of the rings in 4k etc... and a vacation videos.
I read about transcoding, but don't know If I need it when I cast mostly to android TV.
I know the biggest difference between those two devices is RAM (more possibilities in 923+ also better CPU) and integrated GPU (in 423+) . I don't care about higher LAN speed possibilities in 923+ and adding extra hdd bays.
I must say that I more into the 423+ now,it feels more for home use and I would buy it, but.. the price difference is less than 50$ if I add ram to 423+. So I'm puzzled.
