Deleting Files with Windows Explorer - Enquiries - 12-06-2024 Hey I recently deleted some files and folders using windows explorer from my mapped drive....... BUT they still appeared on the NAS through File Station..... Should I delete through File station or is using Windows Explorer ok Am I doing something wrong Thanks RE: Deleting Files with Windows Explorer - ed - 12-13-2024 Deleting files using Windows Explorer from a mapped drive should typically work. However, if the files are still visible in File Station, it might be a caching issue or a permissions-related problem on the NAS. Here are some suggestions to address this: Check Recycle Bin: Many NAS devices have a recycle bin feature. Files deleted via Windows Explorer might be moved there instead of being permanently deleted. Refresh File Station: Open File Station on your NAS and refresh the view to ensure you're seeing the most up-to-date status of the files. Test Deletion via File Station: Try deleting a test file directly in File Station. This will confirm if there’s a difference between the two methods. Verify Permissions: Ensure that the user account you're using in Windows Explorer has sufficient rights to delete files on the NAS. Both methods should work, but File Station provides more control for NAS-specific features like snapshots or versioning. |
