| NAS-to-NAS Backup Considerations? |

1. When planning for a local, automatic NAS-to-NAS backup configuration for a Plex-capable system, does mixing NAS brands (Synology and QNAP) impose any limitations or problems, regardless of which brand is the backup?
2. If the NAS backup is later relocated to an off-site location, does this change the siutation? ...and is it easy to do this?

Hi, I am looking to buy a QNAP because some models can have their CPU expanded. Which I want to upgrade to an i7. There’s another catch I want to be able to use QTS Hero. What QNAP models do you recommend pal? Thank you in advance.

Hi Rob ,
I am a fan of you in your youtube review. I actually bought the QNAP TS-453A partly on your review.
Right now I have a TS-453A with 8 GB and certainly cannot cope with what I like to do.
1. Can this unit accept standard RAM (say Crucial) so that I can upgrade it 32 GB. Can the existing 2 x 4GB be used with 2 x 16 GB RAM?
2. I intend to use the server for container technology. Will this be able to work with this use-case with 40 GB ram. The container will act as say a git server, plex server, linux server.
3. Can the container have 64-bit machine, that is the cpu must be 64-bit registers?
4. Have tried using the integrated Radeon for calculations?
5. I you have not, do you think it will work for the above use-case ?
6. Is this unit fast enough to stream 4k video files. The TS-453A I have cannot do the job.
As I am about to pull the trigger on this a speedy answer will be much appreciated!!
Cheers, Ric

I want to update RAM on my new Ts-251D
2 Questions
1) Can I only upgrade upto 16GB?
2) if yes, do I need to get 8 X 2 like https://www.newegg.ca/crucial-16gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/0ZK-0070-00010?Item=9SIAFETB754461
OR can I buy 1 X 16GB
https://www.newegg.ca/crucial-16gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/0RN-0005-000Z4?Description=CT16G4SFD824A&cm_re=CT16G4SFD824A-_-0RN-0005-000Z4-_-Product
Can I upgrade or 32GB? as they have that option too?

Hi
I am looking for a professional advise please
I already have 2 laptops at home, yet none have enough HDD space of course to back up my data, specially movies, so now what i am looking for is long-term solution for my data storage where i dont have to worry about losing data after some time, and strong transcoding for 4k movies to show on my tv.
I have been considering many options, and find that NAS is better solution, however, i am annoyed with the fact that NAS considered a laptop as well and i already have 2 laptops
do you recommend having buying NAS device? or you can suggest different solution?
And if NAS. which one is the best for streaming 4K movies on my TV, preferably 2 bay one.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
cheers,
Karim
