Question about Synology DS415+

#1
Hello Guys, first I want to thank you for all the nice explanations.

Maybe you could give me a answer why I cannot update my DS415+ to DSM7.2?
I wont to play around with Joomla 5 and this needed PHP 8.2 but could not find a way to update this, so stuck on PHP 8.0. And it's not available on the Synology Download center.

Also I think of selling my DS415+ and buy an DS423+ , I using a NAS for sharing data, testing websites, Vaultwarden etc. etc. Also there are some options to connect some receivers or SDR-receivers to the NAS, but missing 2 GB of memory. Now it's standard with 2 GB, but needed 4 GB to run at the background a special application.

Could you sent me some info if you have time?

Many thanks

Greetings Danny Branderhorst, The Netherlands.

Regarding the issue with updating your DS415+ to DSM 7.2, it's possible that Synology hasn't released an official update for that particular model yet. Support for specific NAS models may vary, and older models might not receive updates to the latest versions of DSM. You can check Synology's official website or contact their support to see if there are any updates planned for your DS415+.

As for considering an upgrade to the DS423+, it sounds like a reasonable choice for your needs. The additional 2GB of memory could be beneficial, especially if you plan to run memory-intensive applications in the background. The DS423+ is a versatile NAS that should work well for data sharing, website testing, and running various applications. Just make sure to transfer your data and settings from your DS415+ to the new NAS if you decide to upgrade.
