my 1tb drive in the LS-500GL failed. I am considering replacing the drive and wanted to know how large can I go ?

I dont care about the lost data, will it be easy to install the new drive or do I have to do a bunch of stuff ?

Technically, you can use hard drives ranging from 1TB to 4TB in your LS-500GL NAS. However, it's essential to check if the power supply can handle the increased power requirements of two drives of that capacity. Before installing the new drive, ensure that your NAS has sufficient power capacity in terms of AMPS and watts to support the upgraded storage. While replacing the drive itself should be relatively straightforward, it's still advisable to follow proper procedures and backup any data if needed to avoid potential data loss during the process.
