Synology NAS

#1
Hello,

I have a Synology 918+ and it's dead... I have all information in there 4 RED WD.
I use NAS for backup, PLEX SERVER (most), docker, Nzb, sonar, radarr, etc
I want advice: to recovery all data can I buy the new 923+ or 1522+ and simply put the disks in new one? I used plex server and over my LG OLED native plex app for streaming most 1080p movies and series?
I read your guides and I can't decide if the AMD of 923+ or 1522+ is good for my use (plex server most and nzb) , if so between 923+ or 1522+ is best?
If you have another advice for a Synology NAS for my use tell me please.
Tks

Regards

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Synology 918+. In order to recover all your data, it should be possible to purchase a new Synology NAS, such as the 923+ or 1522+, and simply insert the existing hard drives into the new unit. Synology NAS devices are designed to be compatible with the migration of hard drives between models, making it relatively straightforward to transfer the drives and retain your data.
DS423+ would be a similar NAS replacement since it comes with a transcoding chip. The other models come with Ryzen CPU which is OK for local streaming, but no transcoding.
