NAS RAM

#1

After debating back and forth regarding my first NAS purchase of either AS6704T, AS5404T and QNAP TS-464-4G
I’ve decided to follow Ed’s advice and go with the QNAP for the smoother software experience.
Since I’ll use it for editing and storing video files, drone files, ripping 4K movies for playback, etc. I’m having to decide on upgrading the 4Gb to either 16GB or 32GB RAM.
I want to ask for another honest and humble opinion, Would it be worth the extra money to up the RAM from 4GB to 32GB or go with 16GB? Would it be wasted memory?
Keep up the good work we appreciate all that you guys do.

You will not notice a difference between 4GB or 32GB. Only if you actually use that memory for virtual machines or docker you will see a difference. This is something you can upgrade later on. Always check spec sheet if that model allows upgrades.
