What exactly are EXOS X20z HSMR HDDs by Seagate?

#1
I need information on a specific HDD within the Seagate enterprise lineup, known as the "EXOS X20z"—specifically the SATA ST18000NM013J and/or ST20000NM001J.

These are supposedly HSMR (hybrid) drives, and are implied to utilize two different capacities depending on usage, either 18TB CMR or 20TB (when formatted in SMR Mode). Does anybody have reliable information or hands-on experience with the EXOS X20z HDD, or if they'll even operate in personal and/or consumer NAS setups due to their seemingly complex nature?

Other than a lone product spec sheet from Seagate, I have no other info to go off of. Any help before purchase is appreciated.

Thanks.

The EXOS X20z HSMR (Hybrid Shingled Magnetic Recording) HDDs by Seagate are a specific line of enterprise-grade hard drives. These drives utilize a combination of CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) and SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) technologies. The hybrid nature allows for higher areal density and increased storage capacity. The EXOS X20z HSMR HDDs offer either 18TB in CMR mode or 20TB in SMR mode, automatically transitioning between the two modes based on usage and workload conditions.
