Sure, I'd be happy to explain how extended storage works when you plug it into the AS6004 NAS.

When you plug in extended storage, such as an external hard drive or a USB drive, to your AS6004 NAS, the NAS recognizes it as a separate storage volume. This extended storage can be used to store files, data, and media, and can be accessed and managed through the NAS interface.

To set up extended storage on your AS6004 NAS, you will need to connect the storage device to the NAS using a compatible cable. Once connected, you will need to navigate to the Storage Manager in the NAS interface and configure the extended storage volume. You can choose to create a new storage pool, or you can add the extended storage to an existing storage pool.

Once you have configured the extended storage volume, it will appear as a separate volume in the NAS interface. You can use this volume to store data, files, and media, and you can also set up backups and other data protection measures for the extended storage volume
