MAX Disk size on DS1823xs+

#1
Hi, Thanks for the wonderful review of the DS1823xs+ with all the detailed information!! I've just bought one and want to install the hard drives now. I know that the compatibility list is somewhat small and it is stated everywhere that you can still use ANY harddisk, you will just get warnings. Thus, I trie to use several EXOS 20TB drives. It's a 64bit architecture, so should easily be able to handle 20TB.
When starting the DS1823, it will be found in the network, but you just get a screen with the message that NO hard disks are found in the NAS. I reduced also the number to just one drive and tested it in different bays, no change.
Do you have maybe any advice what to do now?? many thanks!!! best wishes

This is indeed disappointing that Synology have started to hide these non listed drives completely. Maybe give this a try maybe it works not only for warnings https://nascompares.com/answer/hdd-compa...d-message/

!! Make sure those are not SAS drives. Those drives are for RACK servers etc.
