Ich möchte gerne in dem Synology NAS DS1823xs+ zwei M.2 SSD PCIe 3.0 "OWC Aura P12 4TB Pro" als Storage einbauen.
1. Denken Sie das das möglich wäre mit DSM 7.1.1?

2. Wieviel Platz gibt es für einen Kühlkörper auf einer M.2 SSD und dem ersten HDD Slot 1?

3. Kann man den ersten HDD Slot frei lassen oder muss dort eine HDD verbaut sein?

Noch habe ich die Synology NAS DS1823XS+ noch nicht gekauft.

Schade das es das Qnap TVS-h874-i9-64Gb nicht mit DSM 7.1.1 gibt ;-)

Yes, it should be possible to install two M.2 SSD PCIe 3.0 "OWC Aura P12 4TB Pro" in the Synology NAS DS1823xs+ as storage with DSM 7.1.1. The DS1823xs+ has two built-in M.2 NVMe SSD slots that support both NVMe and PCIe SSDs.

The OWC Aura P12 4TB Pro SSDs come with built-in heat sinks that should fit within the available space in the DS1823xs+. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the dimensions of the SSD and the available space in the NAS before purchasing. I can not guarantee this one. It is quite tight space, but if first bay is empty it will fit for sure.

You can leave the first HDD slot free, as the DS1823xs+ supports various RAID configurations and you can choose which slots to use for your storage needs.
