Curious about how to use open vpn with my NAS. If ,and how, I should use it? How to set it up and know it is working. I have a synology 220+ and have been having fun getting familiar with it and geeking out a bit.

OpenVPN is a software application that allows you to create a secure, encrypted connection to another network over the Internet. To use OpenVPN with your Synology NAS, you'll need to install the OpenVPN package from the Synology Package Center.

Once the package is installed, you'll need to set up the OpenVPN server on your NAS. This can typically be done through the NAS's web interface. You'll need to create a user account, configure the network settings, and set up the encryption settings.

To know it's working, you can check the system log, and also try to connect to the VPN from a remote device.

You can also check the status of the OpenVPN connection on the remote device, to ensure that the connection is active and that data is being encrypted.

Please note that the setup process may vary depending on the specific model and firmware version of your NAS, you should refer to the Synology documentation for more detailed instructions.
