QNAP TS-253D vs TS-264 (new)

#1
Hi there.
Looking for a 2-bay NAS that support PLEX. Which is the best between these ones: QNAP TS-253D vs TS-264 (new). NAS will use mostly MKV files. Other suggestions. Will use probably Seagate HDD Iron Wolf Pro (2 x 18GB) in RAID 1. Thanks in advance for your help.

Both the QNAP TS-253D and TS-264 use the same video transcoding engine, so they will perform very similarly in terms of transcoding capabilities. However, the TS-264 may be able to handle more simultaneous streams compared to the older model. Both NAS support PLEX and can handle MKV files. If you're looking for a 2-bay NAS with similar features, you may also want to consider the Synology DS220+. As for the hard drives, the Seagate HDD Iron Wolf Pro (2 x 18GB) in RAID 1 is a good choice for a NAS setup.
