Not able to connect to or find NAS

#1
Hey NAS Compares,
I needed some advice if you can help with please.
I have a DS218+. For few weeks now, I am not able to find or connect to my NAS at all. Even connecting the NAS (on synology's advice) directly via ethernet does not work. Synology thinks that probably there is a fault with the main system board. But since the NAS is out of warranty now, this is what they replied with - "we would not be able to assist with this issue as we do not provide a repair service for out of warranty units. In this event, you may wish to find a 3rd party company who offer repairs on Synology products (though, we are unable to recommend any companies for this)". Basically they want me to buy a new NAS from them.

Do you know if this can be fixed? Do you know of any 3rd party service provider near London who can help me with this? To me everything else seems to be working fine. I really don't want to buy a new one and add to e-waste if this can be fixed.

Appreciate your help on this.

It will be cheaper to get a replacement NAS then fix it. Even if you find second-hand ds718+/ ds720+.
You can simply move those drives to another NAS.

I hope this helps.
