Hey I have been interested in getting a NAS for quite some time now. I am running two businesses out of my house as well as have a bunch of pictures, movies and music all in one location. Can you assist me in getting the right NAS for my situation?

Yes, having a NAS will allow you to create your own private cloud. If this is your first NAS, you may find Synology easier to use and easier to secure for internet access.
Simple ds218play will allow you to store and play all multimedia. But if you need extras like a full range of backup functions and more then plus series such as ds22+ will be a better choice.
