Synology Hyper Backup - slow

#1
Rob,

Just wondering if you have heard of any complaints about Synology Hyper Backups almost doubling in time to complete the backup?

Have two offsite backup locations that the clients DS718+ NAS backs up to. Have verified network bandwidth to both locations (300/300Mbs  and 500/500Mbs links).  It is slow to both locations. What used to take 1-1/2 hours for nightly backup is now 3hrs.
Hard drives check out, network is good and backup integrity checks okay at both remote locations.

Resaerch hasn't revealed any relevant possibilities that I haven't verified and leads me to believe this may be due to an update from Synology DSM ver 4.

As always, appreciate your insight.
Thanks,
Robert";}

People have been complaining about speeds all the time. Some people find adding more RAM helpful. But if there is a sudden spike in backup times, there might be an issue with ISP. They might noticing increased traffic to an IP and therefore introduced some throttling. Could be router/model updates push through as well. Both ends could be an issue. Upload/download speed on one side and the same on the other side.
