HDD type?

#1
Dear NAS compares
Thank you for your super relevant information about the differences of SMR and CMR

I have additional question
How do I find out which HDD contains Helium instead of Oxygen.

Particularly the 12 TB from WD.
WD120EFAX

I am trying to find the best 12TB option for a QNAP HS-453DX NAS server.

looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards

Usually, hard drive manufacturers use helium on the biggest capacity drives. They keep making drives like this until they figure out how to replace it with air without a performance drop. Then those drives are replaced with the oxy version. If you need helium drives go Segata Exos or WD Ultrastar He10.I hope this helps.
