Recommended Memory ?

I've brought DS1621+ mostly use for storage and sharing photo and trying to run video server like flex.
may be running 1 or 2 VM. would like to understand

Planning to increase memory to 32GB, but Synology one is very expensive, any recommended memory model other than synology.

Also upgrading 10GB ethernet PCI card make sense or if I don't have internet speed not meet GB then upgrading does not make sense ?

DS1621+ is a very good choice. It is a Ryzen quad-core model which is great for virtualization. It has no multimedia chip, but it does cope even with on the fly conversion if you happen to need it.You can use Crucial memory to upgrade the RAM. Synology will try to sell their own RAM with warning messages, but the performance is the same.Having 10GbE will only help if you upgrade your PC if you connect directly. You would need to change switch and cabling if all network needs a boost.I hope this helps.
