WD RED PRO are they SED compatible?

#1
I got 2 WD NAS RED PRO 6Tb each with a QNAP TS-253D. Are the drives compatible with SED encryption? I'm asking the question because they don't have PSID number. And I'm affraid to not be abble to restore them in case I forget the password ( I don't care if I lose the content).
Thank you

No, you need to get specific self-encrypting disks. SED will often be mentioned in the model number. In meantime, you can use volume encryption or folder encryption.I hope this helps.
