Jonsbo N5 sata cables

#1
Hello Nas Compare team,

I'm planning on doing a Jonsbo N5 build, but not sure about what length sata cables to order.
I want to use a 4 bundle sata for horizontal disks and a 8 bundles sata for vertical, to be connected to 2 asm1166 bridges at 6th and 7th pcie slots.

Between 50cm and 100cm, what would be your recommendation for each?

Thank you

For your Jonsbo N5 build, the recommended SATA cable lengths will depend on the exact positioning of your drives and the distance from the PCIe slots to the drive bays. Here's a general guide:

For the 4-bundle SATA cable (horizontal disks): A 50cm cable should be enough. This length is typically suitable for setups where the drives are not too far from the SATA ports on your controller.

For the 8-bundle SATA cable (vertical disks): I'd recommend going with a 75cm to 100cm cable. Since vertical drives can be positioned further from the controller, the longer cable gives you more flexibility.

Since you’re connecting to the ASM1166 bridges at the 6th and 7th PCIe slots, I’d recommend slightly longer cables (closer to 100cm) to avoid any tight bends and ensure you have enough slack for easy management and airflow.
