A message from a blind software developer

#1
Hello,

I'm can, a blind software developer, former Apple employee and content creator.
I used WD pr4100 for a longtime, but upgraded to FS6706T with 6X 990 Pro-4TB and 16GB ram recently.
Everything goes well, however just listened your review of 6806 and thinking is it werth to upgrade? type-c connection, ECC RAM, faster processor seems good.
Apart from this, is there another solution for full-NVME NAS on the market that supports latest technologies?
Unfortunately Asustor ADM software does not have accessibility support (WCAG etc.) and it is hard to operate with screen readers. Possibly as a software dev I can understand how to solve them and did everything that I want.
Thank you very much for your awesome content and happy to see that talking is important than visual content for you :-)

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with your NAS setup. It's fantastic to hear that you're making strides with the FS6706T and NVMe storage. As for the upgrade to the Flashstor 6806, you’ve hit on some of the key benefits, such as Type-C connectivity, ECC RAM, and a faster processor. Whether it’s worth upgrading depends on your specific use case. If you’re looking for improved performance in tasks like virtualization, heavier data processing, or faster media streaming, those improvements would likely benefit you. However, if your current setup is already meeting your needs, it may be a more incremental upgrade.

As for other full-NVMe NAS solutions, there are a few options on the market that support the latest technologies and could potentially offer better accessibility, like the Synology DS923+ with NVMe cache slots or QNAP's higher-end models. Both brands are continually updating their software and hardware, which could also improve accessibility.

Regarding Asustor ADM, I understand the challenge with screen readers. Hopefully, more brands will incorporate better WCAG-compliant accessibility features in the future, especially as demand increases.
