NAS for home user with web access

#1
Hello there,

I am a researcher working at the University of Bath and am looking for a NAS primarily installed at home for local files within my home network. However, I do require access to my home files at work (ie at the university), but due to limitations in the university internet access restrictions - direct connection acesss to private networks is not allowed, so therefore, I can only access files through internet. This worked fine as I was using WD MyCloud NAS, however, recently WD MyCloud had uptime issues as a result of ransomware/malware and also the disk was approaching its lifespan, I started looking round to a proper NAS replacement.

Given the requirements of file access above (at work I will require access to files via the internet, and so will require external access to the NAS at home), I was looking at the UGreen NAS Flash solution as the WD MyCloud is still working but do not urgent need an update. Was toying with going with Synology.

Thank you.

Regards,
Gerad
