Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ Help

#1
I have been watching your youtube videos. You guys know your stuff. I know you're not a 'tech support' company but wonder if you can help me given your expertise. Perhaps a 5-10 Zoom call to see if you can fix it? I don't think I need your full hour time.

Please help! I have so much data on my NAS I need!

-------

iMac running Ventura 13.6.3

-> connected via ethernet cable direct to NAS

ReadyNAS NV+

RAIDar scan does not find NAS

NAS visible in Finder under 'Location' and appears under 'Network'

Names of drive appears when 'Network' clicked in Finder:

BromNAS appears

BromNAS (CIFS) appears

- double clicking either of these results in no action

ReadyNAS LCD display reads:

ReadyNAS is running with 4 solid green HDD lights

C: 2.4/4.0 T free

192.168.168.168

Under Mac settings -> Network -> Ethernet:

Manually configured IP address to 192.168.168.100

HELP Please. I am a networking noob lacking knowledge to get me into my NAS and able to retrieve the data.

To troubleshoot the issue, let's ensure both your iMac and Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ are connected to the same network via a router. Connecting them directly to a router instead of a direct connection should allow them to communicate more effectively.

Additionally, please ensure that both devices are set to obtain their IP addresses automatically (using DHCP). This will allow your router to assign unique IP addresses to each device on the network, ensuring proper communication and identification.

Once connected to the router, restart both your iMac and ReadyNAS NV+ to allow them to obtain new IP addresses and establish a stable connection.
