923+

#1
I’m new to NAS. I thought I did enough homework before making my purchase of 923+. Now it looks like I chose the wrong device. How do I get the most out of this unit for multimedia. Watching videos at home through Apple TV and watching videos away from home on devices like iPads and iPhones? Will plex pass handle the transcoding needs? Or what other options do I have? Thanks for your help and informative videos.

The DS423+ boasts a GPU chip that, when combined with Plex Pass, enables smooth 4K remote streaming. This setup leverages the GPU's processing power to handle the demands of transcoding high-resolution media for seamless playback on various devices, including those outside your home network. On the other hand, the DS923+ is limited to 1080p video transcoding capabilities, making it more suitable for lower-resolution streaming needs. Therefore, if your priority is to enjoy 4K content remotely, the DS423+ with Plex Pass is the optimal choice for your multimedia streaming requirements.
