Synology NAS 224+ and Samsung SSDs

#1
Hello, I'm thinking to buy Synology NAS DS224+.

Initially, I was thinking about buying 2 hard drives, but recently I've been considering buying two Samsung MZ-77Q8T0BW 870 QVO SSD instead.

I don't plan to overwrite constantly data, but I'll use the NAS as a home drive of mainly multimedia files.

I'd like to know if DS224+ is completely compatibile with MZ-77Q8T0BW 870 QVO (it's not mentioned on Synology official website) and if, in general, this kind of SSD is ok to buy for NAS or if it gives any kind of problems.

Absolutely, the Synology DS224+ is a great choice for your home NAS needs. Regarding the Samsung MZ-77Q8T0BW 870 QVO SSDs, although they might not be explicitly listed on the official Synology website, they are generally compatible with the DS224+. Synology NAS systems often display a warning about drives not on their compatibility list, but rest assured, you can disable this warning. These SSDs should work well for your intended use, especially for storing multimedia files. The SSDs provide fast access times, enhancing the performance of your NAS, and since you don't plan on constant data overwrites, they should serve your needs effectively.
