Hello
I currently own a QNAP TVS-471 which has served me well until recently as a home/plex NAS. However it has been hit by the recent DEADBOLT exploit and I am now having doubts as to whether to stay with QNAP. I am wondering should I stick with the QNAP I currently have or should I wait for the DS923+ or change now and get the DS920+. The NAS is used for home use documents and backup, bust mostly PLEX.
Thanks in advance

If you've managed to recover from DEADBOLT - well done first of all.
I trust you've taken all Robbie's advice and disabled the inbuilt admin account (or at least removed it's access and made it's password incredibly complex whilst creating a new admin and set MFA up). In addition switched on some of those security settings & disabled the parts you don't need that QNAP like to leave switched on.
It's exciting times for NAS - with the DS923+ on the horizon and QNAP replacing their flagship TVS-x72 range with the TVS-hx74.
So right now might just be the perfect time to wait - even if just until 'Black Friday' to see what monster deals can be had with any of the above.
The fact you've become accustomed to the TVS range, anything less is going to feel like you haven't really made much of a jump upwards because in reality your old NAS still out specs a lot of the newer ones. So either your next upgrade will come sooner or you're going to be a little frustrated. Just my humble opinion.
As you're already familiar with QNAP it could be the path of least effort with a NAS to NAS migration using the same discs & the familiarity of the system.
Hope the input was useful.
