Synology 1819+ with the free card or the Qnap TVS 873?

Hi Saw your review of both the 1819+ with the free card and the Qnap 873... In terms of use where i would be using the NAS units for hosting VMs, Media (plex server) would you much more recommend the Qnap rather than the Synology unit?

Seems like the Qnap has more going for it based on VM and plex... is this still the case?

Qnap is indeed more powerful and would be a better fit for virtual machines. Some people even choose the TS-x73 series which allows PCIe graphics cards. This can be then used to VMs or transcoding.I hope this helps.
