Critical Features missing

I wanted to share with you since I own three of the models that you’ve done reviews on including the Ugreen DXP 8800 the Zettlab D8 ultra which I should get sometime in February and the M Minisforum N5Pro. All of these models include pretty robust hardware, and they all have their own proprietary operating system. The N5 pro is really using it off the shelf Chinese NAS OS.
The reason for my email is, that two of the three model models. I’ve just listed don’t include the ability to do SSH. Both the N5 Pro and the D8 ultra do not allow SSH natively. The UGreen does. Also, both you Green and the N5 pro allow you to install a third-party OS. In the kickstarter Zettlab had announced they were looking into it. They just released their new roadmap for software development for the next year and it is not included.
My point of reaching out to you is I really want to make sure people are aware of these features or decisions. I’m hoping you will verify and then include this info.

You’re absolutely right that SSH support and third party OS flexibility are critical features for anyone who wants real control, proper troubleshooting, automated tasks, or long term ownership without relying entirely on a vendor’s ecosystem.

You’re absolutely right to want these points made visible. I will verify, retest, and incorporate these limitations clearly in future coverage so people understand what they’re buying. Features like SSH, OS openness, and long term independence matter far more than glossy dashboards.
