Hey, big fan of the channel. I even used this advice section once in the past but ended up not buying the NAS because at the time I was moving to another country.
So, what change then?
Well, I now have a homelab server, that deals with my media and server needs. So things like virtual machines and Plex media server are covered.
I would buy a NAS it ppurely for storage and backups. I would store all my media there (the things I stream in plex, but also family photos and videos) and use it in some sort of raid configuration for extra layer of backup protection.
I don't have a very good router, I'm using standard internet provider one and it can barely deliver 600mb/s on cable. So I would probably benefit form buying a router as well?
So, my questions are:
Do you think i would benefit from buying a NAS?
Any recommendations purely for storage use?
Should I buy a new shiny router?
