Hi. I have a Windows 10 PC laptop server that is getting old and less reliable these days. It serves primarily as a Plex server with DAS in a 4 bay USB enclosure with 4 WD Red 10TB drives. I use Stablebit Drivepool with file duplication. I'm looking to move to a NAS for a more stable/reliable system with 6 bays. I also want to use Unraid instead of native OS. PC also does a few other tasks including a Channels DVR server, HTWebRemote Server (small server for web based control of AV gear), disc rips via MakeMKV all of which I believe can be done with Docker or a VM. I am most interested in the Ugreen DXp6800 Pro or the to be released QNAP Qu604. I was considering the QNAP TS-664-8G until the new QNAP models were announced. Ugreen is available now with great hardware but still a newcomer vs the established QNAP. I would rather not do DIY though. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the detail, that really helps. For your use case of Plex, Docker apps, and Channels DVR, Unraid is a smart move since it will give you flexibility with drive sizes and the ability to run those services in containers or VMs.
Between the UGREEN DXP6800 Pro and the QNAP Qu604, there are a couple of important points. The UGREEN is available now, with strong hardware for the price: Ryzen CPU, dual 10GbE, NVMe support for storage, and space to expand. Running Unraid on it gives you control over the software stack, and many users are finding it works very well for Plex and Docker workloads. The main caution is that UGREEN is still relatively new in the NAS world, so long-term software polish and official support are less proven.
The QNAP Qu604 looks like it will be part of their refreshed range, with more modern CPUs and features than the older TS-x64 series. However, at the moment it looks like the Qu series may be restricted to China only, at least at launch. That makes availability and support in the US uncertain. If you want something soon, the safer choice is not to wait on it.
The TS-664-8G is still worth considering, but it is built on older Intel silicon and won’t give you the same headroom for virtualization or Docker as the UGREEN. If you want to stay under $1000 and avoid DIY, the DXP6800 Pro is probably the most practical option right now. Just be ready to lean on the Unraid community rather than vendor support if you go that route.
