Hi
Followed the guide and everything seemed to wrok great. Package running, rebooted NAS. All good.
But Network Interface says my speed is still 1000mbps.
Using front port on DS920+ File transfer speed tops out at around 114mb/s.
I can access the NAS no problem via the WavLink - it's the only network connection after I pulled the two ethernet cables.
I'm connected via network switch but all my equipment is 1000gpbs.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Thanks for reaching out! It seems like you've made good progress, but you're running into a speed limitation. Here are a few things to check to troubleshoot:
1. Ensure Proper Cable and Port
Since you're using a 5GbE adapter and seeing 1000Mbps speeds, it's possible that the ethernet cable you're using is not rated for 5GbE speeds. Check if you're using Cat 5e or higher (preferably Cat 6 or Cat 6a) cables, as lower-quality cables can limit the speed to 1Gbps.
Also, ensure you're connected to a 5GbE-capable port on both your NAS and your switch. Sometimes the ports on devices may be auto-negotiating to 1Gbps, so make sure the correct settings are being applied.
2. Check the Network Interface Settings on DSM
You might need to go into your DSM Network Settings and confirm that the 5GbE adapter is being recognized properly, and that it's set to negotiate a 5Gb connection. You can try disabling and re-enabling the interface or setting it to a static link speed if necessary.
3. Switch Capabilities
Since you're using a network switch, check if your switch supports 5GbE speeds. Most switches for home use might only support 1GbE unless they are specifically rated for 5GbE or higher. You’ll need a switch that supports 2.5GbE, 5GbE, or 10GbE speeds to fully utilize the 5GbE adapter.
4. File Transfer Speeds
If your network connection is correctly set to 5GbE, but you still see file transfer speeds of 114MB/s (which equals ~912Mbps), it could be a limitation of the NAS hardware, especially if the NAS CPU is handling large file transfers or there’s disk bottlenecking. You can test the connection with smaller files to rule out any NAS performance-related issues.
5. Firmware and Driver Updates
Ensure that your WavLink 5GbE adapter has the latest drivers installed, and check for any firmware updates for your DS920+ that could improve network performance.
