Terramaster nvme ssd compatible drives outside the Compatibility list.

#1
Hi,

I'm buying a TERRAMASTER F8 SSD Plus NAS and looking at adding4TB and 8TB ssd's but currently there are only a couple on the compatibility list of terramaster for 4TB. I'm wondering if anyone has tried any other ssd's that have worked as I'm looking to try to buy some on the Black Friday sales and the WD Red SN700 wds400t1r0c doesn't have any deals going at the moment. The WD Red SN700 (WDS400T1R0C) is a solid choice, but if it’s not on sale right now, there are a few alternatives to consider. While it's not officially listed on the Terramaster compatibility list, many users have successfully used WD Red SSDs in other NAS systems due to their reliability and performance tailored for NAS environments.

The WD Red SN700 should work in the Terramaster F8 SSD Plus as long as it meets the standard PCIe 3.0 x4 interface requirement. The main concern with compatibility issues tends to be around firmware or the way the drive interacts with the NAS' software, but WD drives are generally well supported across various NAS brands.

If you're looking to buy on Black Friday, you may also find deals on WD Red Plus or WD Red Pro SSDs, which are also built for NAS use, although they might differ in terms of endurance and price.

In summary, even though it’s not officially listed, the WD Red SN700 (WDS400T1R0C) should still work fine with your Terramaster NAS, and you might get a great deal if it goes on sale soon.
