Thank you for reaching out! You can absolutely use two Terramaster NAS devices on the same network without any conflict. Each NAS will have its own unique IP address on the network, and as long as they’re configured correctly, they will function independently.
Here's how it works:
Dynamic IP Addresses (DHCP)
If you have a router with DHCP enabled (which is the default setting for most home networks), the router will automatically assign a unique IP address to each NAS when they are connected to the network. You won't need to worry about IP conflicts because the router manages this for you.
Static IP Setup (Optional)
If you prefer, you can manually assign static IP addresses to each NAS in your router’s settings to ensure they always use specific IPs. This helps avoid any potential confusion or changes in IP addresses if your router restarts or reassigns IPs dynamically.
No Brand Conflict
It doesn’t matter if you use two Terramaster NAS units or mix brands. What matters is that each NAS is properly connected to your router and gets a unique IP address. There won't be any conflict based on the brand.
Conclusion:
You can use two Terramaster NAS devices on the same network, with each NAS having a unique IP address. This setup will allow your home and business data to remain separate, and you won’t experience any conflicts. If you'd prefer different brands for any reason, that will also work perfectly fine as long as each NAS gets a unique IP address.
