This article links toa Noctua at Amazon that is a 4pin fan, but images show 3 pins? Which is correct? Which is the best fan for the DS923+? And Noctua makes several in the correct size. What are the differences? Anything better than Noctua?
Thanks!

Here is what I find online (there is 3pin connection):
f your DS923+ has a 3-pin fan connector on the board, you can still use a 4-pin PWM fan, but with some limitations:
How to Use a 4-Pin Fan on a 3-Pin Connector:
Compatibility: A 4-pin PWM fan can be connected to a 3-pin connector. The fan will work, but it will run in voltage-controlled mode (like a 3-pin fan), meaning you won't have PWM control over the fan speed.
Connection: When you plug the 4-pin fan into a 3-pin header:
The first three pins of the 4-pin fan will match up with the 3-pin connector on the board.
The fourth pin (which controls PWM) will simply remain unused.
Operation: The fan will receive power and operate based on the voltage supplied by the NAS. However, you won’t have the fine-tuned speed control that PWM provides. The fan speed will be controlled by varying the voltage, similar to how a 3-pin fan works.
