Certainly, the Synology DS423+ would be an excellent choice for your requirements. This NAS model is equipped with a Celeron quad-core CPU and features a built-in transcoding chip, making it ideal for handling large amounts of photos, including both JPEG and RAW formats. It also provides ample power to serve as a Time Machine for your local laptop, allowing you to easily backup and sync data across your three Apple devices.
The DS423+ offers the flexibility to upgrade RAM and add an NVMe cache, enabling enhanced performance and responsiveness. Additionally, Synology's user-friendly interface makes it straightforward to set up and manage the NAS, providing a seamless experience for Mac users.
