NAS/DAS (Drobo replacement)

#1
Hi, still using Drobo, but want to upgrade/replace before I have an issue. Large format photography (HUGE files up to 20GB per image), have 7TB of work files now. Not needing PLEX or even remote access, just want to share working data across 2 machines on the network. Can use fast NVME external drive for working with active data, then want to move "keepers" to the NAS/DAS. Raid 5 preferred, but currently have a mix of 6 and 4 TB drives. Offsite backup is currently managed manually for every project. Thank you!

I would recommend ds923+. It also allows drive mixing similar to Drobo. You can also use NVMe pools for storage. And it comes with 10GbE LAN upgrade option to speed up backups.

I hope this helps.
