Migrate drives from old to new QNAP NAS

#2
Yes, you can migrate your existing WD30EFRX (3TB) drives from your QNAP TS-251 to the new TS-464 4-bay NAS. After physically transferring the drives to the new NAS, you can log into the QTS operating system and verify that everything is functioning correctly. Once confirmed, you can proceed to expand the RAID array by adding the new WD80EFZZ (8TB) drives to the available bays.

Combining older WD Red drives from 2015 with new WD Red Plus drives should not pose any compatibility issues. Both drive models are designed for NAS usage and are compatible with QNAP systems. However, it's always recommended to keep backup copies of your important data when performing any disk migration or RAID expansion to ensure data integrity and protection.
