How to connect second NAS

#2
There is currently no information available on whether Synology will release an 1823+ or 1623+ model. However, the 1821+ and 1621+ are both excellent choices for expanding your storage needs.

To connect your new PC and second NAS to your existing 1821+ NAS, you can use the dual ports on the X550T2 10Gbit card. Connect port 1 of the card to your PC, port 2 to one of the LAN ports on the 1821+ NAS, and then connect port 1 on the second NAS to another LAN port on the 1821+ NAS.

You don't necessarily need a 10Gbit switch to connect your devices. The dual ports on the X550T2 card allow you to daisy chain your devices together, allowing you to create a 10Gbit network between your devices without a switch.

However, it's worth noting that daisy chaining devices together can sometimes cause issues with latency and performance, so a dedicated 10Gbit switch may be a better option in the long run. If you decide to go this route, you can connect all of your devices to the switch, including your PC and both NAS devices, to create a high-speed, low-latency network.
