WD EX2 would backup all photos and videos from the phones without a need to open the mobile app. All done in the background.But if you want some more functionality like face recognition, GEO and time filter for organising these photos then Synology will do a better job. Plus series (ds218+ etc) would be more future proof, but if the backup is all you need then you can consider value series such as DD218play.I hope this helps.
