Differences Ironwolf drives

#1
Hi,

I'm just about to upgrade to a Synology DS920+ (unless there is any insider info on a 922+ upcoming? :-)

The plan is to purchase 2 x 4tb Ironwolf drives, to go with my 2 x 3tb WD Reds (these will slowly be replaced in the future.)

My question is, what is the difference between the normal ironwolf drives. Memory size of 64 or 256 - How does this affect, well, anything? On the links below the larger buffer size seems to be cheaper, which is strange.

My use case: 50/50 split between a media server (no real transcoding planned) and work files/file server. My priority is data safety, i.e: knowing when a drive will fail, being able to swap out in time, and having the option of Seagate's data recovery.... Not sure how these two links differ.

Any help would be great!
Keep up the good work on the channel!

Greetings,
Nico
