Synology is much simpler to use and have very good mobile apps. Asustor is competing somewhere in the top 3, but their software is not as good as Synology.If you do want to use HDMI for TV or monitor then Asustor is the best choice. Otherwise, Synology has better options and more regular updates and improvements available.I hope this helps.
