Yes, Synology DS920+ is a plastic-based model that silences some of the hard drives created noise instead of echoing off the metal walls. But you will still notice the hard drive reading noise if it is very close to you. The solution would be to use 2.5inch SSD or laptop drives. WD 5400RPM drives usually are fairly quiet.Synology comes with AI and great organizing functionality. Also, it allows RAID1 and RAID10 which mirrors one or two drives. This is a fairly safe option.You can use it as an Itunes server, time machine backup and much more.I hope this helps.
